Hi,

I invested in this development in 2006.  Have had to rent since......really painful.  However, still have high hopes this investment will pay off.  Last I heard was that the developer is aiming to open this Christmas but March next year more realistic.  I was given this update by the agent who sold me the property and this was probably six months ago.  It seems to have gone quiet and no further updates on their website.  Does anyone have any further news?

I really would like to know even if it is bad.....

Best

Sophie

Hi

Just googled onto the forum - thanks for setting this up.

Pretty much as per everyone else I am keen for any info or updates.  I am contacting Brian and Patricia Rahl as they acted as the agents via my UK investment company.

I will post updates I receive and am considering a visit to the site unless information is forthcoming

Rgds for now

Kevin

Have just found this forum whilst searching for any news on Caicos Beach opening. We bought a unit in 2005 and are obviously concerned that the resort will ever open. I have repeatedly tried to contact Brian and Patti Rahl, but no response to myself or my agent in the UK.

My son visited the resort at the end of 2009 when he was working on South Caicos and reported that work was ongoing, but slow. The airport was the problem back then and still appears to be now. It is incredibly frustrating that
information is so limited and personally if we are going to lose our considerable investment I'd rather know!

I am in touch with a few other owners, one of whom is trying to coordinate information and look for a way forward as a group. Any news/information from other people would be most welcome. Crying or Very sad

Hi,

I heard from Robert Brown (the agent who sold me my two apartments) this week.  He answered an email I sent asking for an update.  He replied saying that he was there last month.  He said they were still building but hoping to open March 2012.  The resort took a direct hit from hurricaine Irene.

I had an encouraging conversation with him earlier this year.  He said that Brian has a resort in Orlando near Disney which is amazing.  He also said that Brian has a database of customers from this resort and is planning to cross sell Orlando/Turks and Caicos as a two centre holiday for the US market.  He also said that 1M dollars of plants had arrived on the site and that the pool was being dug out and would be amazing.  My gut feel is not that we have all lost our money.  I think it is going to be ok and that we have all had a lucky escape.  I will never invest in something like this again but still hope to see the resort finished and either bringining in an income or apartments for sale at $500,000 - $750,000.

Any news or updates keep us all posted and more detail on what is there would be apprecated from those that have visited recently.

Many thanks

Sophie

Hi Chris,

I have just received this update from Brian Rahl which confirms what I heard regarding the hurricaine:

Hi Sophie,

I trust all is well with you.

As you are aware, the Law Firm of Rahl and Rahl P.A. represents Caicos Beach Club Resort and Marina 1A, Ltd., a Turks and Caicos Island Corporation.

I have received the following recent information from the Developer:

Hurricane Irene hit the Islands in September however it was mostly severe rain and flooding as opposed to very high winds.  As you may be aware, it takes several days to prepare the site for an approaching hurricane and then several days to undo the preparation.  The flooding causes some damage and some loss of materials however this is manageable as opposed to a severe hurricane.

Kitchen cabinets started arriving on-site last week; cabinet assembly and installation will commence shortly.  It will take approximately 2 to 3 months for delivery of all the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, after which they must be assembled and installed.

Interior finishing is proceeding in respect to painting, installation of crown molding, ceiling finishing, etc.
Patricia met with the Turks and Caicos Civil Aviation Department last week regarding the South Caicos International Airport and they will be updating her in regards to completion, shortly.

Earlier this year, International Living and Trip Advisor named The Turks and Caicos Island beaches  the Number 1 Beach Destination in the World.   Conde Nast Magazine has rated the Turks and Caicos Island beaches in the top ten in the world over the last several years.

Regards,
Brian
